Is this why LEGO picked brown for its next Classic Space minifigure?
Picking brown for the next LEGO Classic Space minifigure strangely matches an existing LEGO model that may be teasing a colour to come.
40516 Everyone is Awesome was released in 2021 with 11 monochrome minifigures matching the colours on the Pride Progress Flag. Oddly enough, 10 of these 11 colours now have LEGO Classic Space minifigures with two 2023 LEGO sets.
By what could be an act of sheer coincidence, the next LEGO Classic Space minifigure as part of 71037 Series 24 is in a brown suit. As pointed out by Waranov’s custom modification of 40516 Everyone is Awesome earlier this year, there’s one colour missing. In their build, they substituted brown for dark orange, though that can now be rectified when 71037 Series 24 launches on January 1, 2023.
Notably, their depiction switches pink and white around though it’s easy enough to move the minifigures into the official colour order should you wish to recreate this for yourself.
They chose to place the grey astronaut on the light blue stripe since there’s no corresponding LEGO Classic Space minifigure in that colour. However, 40516 Everyone is Awesome may offer insight into where Classic Space is heading next as the choice of colours between both may be too close to be a coincidence.
There’s no official confirmation from the LEGO Group, but a light blue Classic Space minifigure could help to complete the alternative depiction of 40516 Everyone is Awesome and provided this is no twist of fate, 40516 Everyone is Awesome could be a sign of things to come.
40516 Everyone is Awesome is available now on LEGO.com and 71037 Series 24 launching on January 1, 2023. You can finish the purple astronaut with the helmet featured in the upcoming 80111 Lunar New Year Parade too.
