LEGO Red Dead Redemption stop motion animation captures the Old West

As gamers eagerly await the release of the upcoming sequel, a brickfilmer has recreated a Red Dead Redemption shootout using LEGO bricks and stop motion know-how.

The latest stop motion LEGO video to be getting attention online is this Red Dead Redemption film. With great care and attention to detail, supercoolclark has put together a one minute video that sees a classic western shoot out take place.

Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption II is due for release on October 26, a prequel to Red Dead Redemption. The Western-themed action-adventure allows players to explore an open world, earning themselves a reputation as a redeemed outlaw or a dangerous gunslinger, or something in between. It is set in 1899, during the latter years of the American Old West.

Fans might wish for a LEGO Red Dead Redemption video game, but this brickfilm is the closest they are likely to get. There is always the chance that the LEGO Group and TT Games could collaborate on a game based on the classic Western theme, but without a licence to tie into it is unlikely. Then again, LEGO City Stories basically provided a child friendly version of Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto games.

The next actual LEGO video game release will be LEGO DC Super-Villains, available to pre-order now.
