LEGO slashes prices on seasonal sets including 40424 Winter Snowball Fight

The LEGO Group has knocked up to 30% off a handful of Halloween and winter-themed sets in an off-season sale.

Just like buying your Christmas wrapping paper in January, the best time to pick up LEGO seasonal sets is arguably when they’re not in season at all. That much is true for at least 40424 Winter Snowball Fight, 40423 Halloween Hayride and 854049 Pumpkin & Bat Duo, all of which are currently discounted at LEGO.com.

There’s a cool 30% off the first two of those sets, bringing them down to £8.39 / €9.19 apiece from their original retail price of £11.99 / €12.99. The latter model, meanwhile – which includes two hanging Halloween-themed decorations – can be had for just £7.19 / €8.04, down 20% from its initial price tag of £8.99 / €9.99.

Unfortunately, all three sets have already sold out in the US, and chances are they won’t be coming back (save for an unexpected renewal when their respective seasons roll around again). 854049 Pumpkin & Bat Duo is marked as ‘retiring soon’ in other regions, meanwhile, so this will likely be your last chance to pick it up.

Given LEGO.com’s free shipping threshold of £50 / $50, these seasonal builds are probably best placed as add-ons to a larger order – whether to take you over that qualifying spend, or simply to take advantage of their prices while the going’s good. If they’re still around by Halloween/Christmas 2021, you just know they’re going to be full whack again.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
