SpongeBob turns 40 years old today, and LEGO SpongeBob turns 20. To celebrate that and the new set, the LEGO Group has recreated the iconic theme song.
It's SpongeBob Day, which probably explains why the LEGO Group has revealed both 11386 SpongeBob SquarePants: Bikini Bottom and 40858 SpongeBob SquarePants Figure. As if that wasn't enough of a celebration for the 40th birthday of the character, according to his driver's licence, the promotion for the set on Instagram has started strong.
The LEGO Group has recreated the iconic intro sequence from the SpongeBob SquarePants series using the new set and minifigures. It even includes a LEGO Painty the Pirate painting at the start, in case you want to recreate him for yourself.
Both 11386 SpongeBob SquarePants: Bikini Bottom and 40858 SpongeBob SquarePants Figure are to be available from September 1, 2026. Pre-orders are open right now.
