LEGO Star Wars 40730 Luke Skywalker’s Lightsaber GWP sells out in Europe
LEGO Star Wars 40730 Luke Skywalker’s Lightsaber – free with early orders of 75397 Jabba’s Sail Barge – has already sold out at LEGO.com in some European territories, a matter of hours after going live.
75397 Jabba’s Sail Barge has only been available to order for LEGO Insiders for around nine or 10 hours in continental Europe, but orders have clearly exceeded the LEGO Group’s expectations, as it’s currently on back order with a promise to ship ‘within 60 days’ – and its exclusive gift-with-purchase has disappeared entirely from the site, at least in some regions (including Germany and Poland).

The third in a series of buildable saber hilts, 40730 Luke Skywalker’s Lightsaber is based on his weapon from Return of the Jedi, and sits on a black display stand with a printed name plaque. That’s the only exclusive element in the 145-piece set, but like Yoda’s and Anakin’s lightsabers before it, that part – along with the promo set’s box and instructions – will likely ensure it maintains a high price on the aftermarket. (Some copies have already sold for £100+ on eBay.)

At the time of writing, 40730 Luke Skywalker’s Lightsaber is still available with 75397 Jabba’s Sail Barge in the UK, US and some European countries, but its rapid disappearance in several regions doesn’t bode well for its longevity elsewhere. If you want to ensure maximum returns on an early Sail Barge purchase, best get your order in as soon as possible. You’ll also qualify for both of the other October GWPs, 40697 Halloween Pumpkin and 40728 Brite Bomber.
75397 Jabba’s Sail Barge is available exclusively to LEGO Insiders through October 5, at which point it will go on sale to everyone through LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores. Click through to secure your copy now.

put an order in on day one and the sabre was already sold out VERY disappointed.
There are still some left in Croatia and it’s not tied to Jabba’s sail barge kit but to any lego sw purchase above 250€
It is not (yet) the case in Lego France at least.
