LEGO Star Wars helps decorate the Empire State Building

As the Christmas season draws near, LEGO Star Wars is helping to decorate the Empire State Building.

The iconic skyscraper is a centrepiece of New York City, and now the Fifth Avenue window features some festive models. The Star Wars models certainly look familiar, with LEGO designers recently reimagining sets for the holiday.

Those wishing to visit the displays can expect to see a candy cane Millennium Falcon and bearded AT-AT. In addition, The Child is enjoying a colourful treat. Each display also features various LEGO Star Wars holiday scenes playing amongst an LED-lit landscape (images via Time Out).

“We are thrilled to be reopened and a part of New Yorkers’ holiday plans this year,” said Jean-Yves Ghazi, president of the Observatory. “With our $165 million reimagined Observatory Experience and new safety protocols which includes reduced capacity and timed ticketing, guests are welcome to experience the joy of the holiday season from the heart of New York City.”

There are plenty of LEGO Star Wars Holiday celebrations to go around this year, with a Christmas Competition on LEGO Ideas and the release of the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
