LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga ranked in top five best-selling games of 2022

When it comes to both digital and physical sales, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has been ranked in the top five best-selling games of 2022.

According to research conducted by NPD, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is the fifth best-selling game of 2022, coming behind God of War: Ragnarok, Madden NFL 23, Elden Ring, and (in the top spot) Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022). This doesn’t come as too much of a surprise, with the game taking the top spot in its launch month of April 2022.

This marks the biggest global launch for any LEGO game in the 28-year history of the franchise, a fitting culmination of the LEGO Star Wars games. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga captured the wit and irreverent humour that many loved about the LEGO games, while also including enough Easter eggs and references to grab the attention of any Star Wars fan.

Other games that made it into the top ten include Pokemon: Scarlet/Violet, FIFA 23, Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Horizon II: Forbidden West, and MLB: The Show 22. Here’s the full top ten in order:

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
