Looking for a major LEGO Super Mario discount? John Lewis are now offering a major price reduction on 71411 The Mighty Bowser.
Released earlier this year, 71411 The Mighty Bowser is a large scale recreation of the Super Mario series’ main villain. Its massive size requires a similarly large price tag of £229.99, but John Lewis have knocked that price down to £172.49 – a 25% saving on the usual RRP.

While Mario has his fair share of enemies, Bowser is by far his most famous – and his most formidable. The King of the Koopas has appeared in LEGO form before now, but this model is by far the best. Measuring 32cm high atop his display stand (and 41cm wide), the set is packed with detail and an impressive amount of interactivity.
The large scale allows all the features of Bowser – like his stocky build, spiked collars, red hair and spiked shell – to be captured accurately. The latter part of the build is especially interesting, as it uses intricate hexagonal sections and a new cone element for the most faithful recreation in LEGO form.
Interestingly, this set is designed to be a toy as well as a display piece. Its arms are poseable, and Bowser’s head can be turned from side to side using a pair of buttons built into his neck. His eyes and eyebrows can also have their position adjusted, and opening his mouth automatically shoots a fireball.
The set even comes with a simple display base that mimics the architecture of Bowser’s castle. This allows Mario, Luigi or Peach to interact with Bowser via hidden barcodes. In short, if you’re a fan of the wider LEGO Super Mario line, this set might be just what you’re looking for.
