LEGO Wicked’s rumoured 2025 slate includes milestone 18+ set
The first list of rumoured LEGO Wicked 2025 sets includes a build that will apparently be labelled 18+, which would represent a milestone moment for the LEGO Group.
Stop us if you’ve heard this one before: the LEGO Group is apparently gearing up to debut what would be the first-ever 18+ set anchored around mini-dolls. That’s if fresh rumours from lego_minecraft_goat pan out as expected, because the first set on the list is 75685, which is said to be an 18+ model coming in at $149.99 in the US. Every LEGO Wicked set so far has included mini-dolls rather than minifigures.
You may remember that we’ve been on this merry-go-round already with 43225 The Little Mermaid Royal Clamshell, which was initially rumoured to include mini-dolls and break through the glass ceiling for 18+ sets in 2023. The live-action Little Mermaid set eventually materialised with minifigures, though – which means the title of the first 18+ set with mini-dolls is still up for grabs.
There’s still the distinct possibility that 75685 will break from its fellow LEGO Wicked sets by serving up minifigures of Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba and Ariana Grande’s Glinda (alongside whoever else might be included in the set), or that it will actually be some kind of buildable object or character and not include any minifigures or mini-dolls at all.
But hooking both LEGO Wicked and LEGO Wednesday to mini-dolls rather than minifigures suggests the LEGO Group is aware of a more mature audience for this type of character. After all, a not-insignificant number of kids who were into Friends when it first launched 12 years ago will now be older teens and adults – and the LEGO Group may be hoping to continue their brick-built journey into the 18+ range with mini-dolls still in the mix.
It’s tough to say one way or the other right now with no other concrete details to go on, but we’ll hopefully find out more about LEGO Wicked’s 2025 range in the weeks and months to come. The first Wicked movie is in cinemas now, while the sequel – Wicked: For Good – will debut on November 21, 2025. We may well be looking at a launch date in the second half of the year for these sets as a result.
