LEGOLAND Florida Resort closes for March

As of Sunday, March 15, LEGOLAND Florida Resort will close due to the coronavirus outbreak.

LEGOLAND Florida Resort has announced that the theme park will close from Sunday, March 15, until the end of the month. The US theme park has remained open for the last few days, but confirmed yesterday that the closure is imminent.

Here is the official announcement:

Out of an abundance of caution, LEGOLAND Florida Resort will
temporarily close its theme park and water park. The closure will be effective at the close of business on Sunday, March 15 through March 31, 2020.

LEGOLAND accommodations will remain open during this time.

The hotels remain open at the theme park, although anyone with reservations or tickets can find information at the official LEGOLAND website, which explains what the options are for exchanges and refunds. The Pirate Island Hotel, a new accomodation opening at the destination, has been pushed back to May 15.

In the UK, the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort has opened, with a new ride launching tomorrow – there has been no word yet that the park will be closing. In Billund, Denmark, the LEGO House has closed for the rest of the month.
