LEGOLAND Windsor’s new rollercoaster opening date revealed

LEGOLAND Windsor’s new rollercoaster has had its opening date and time revealed while offering the first look at the train for the attraction.

Minifigure Speedway, the new racing rollercoaster coming to LEGOLAND Windsor with the world’s tallest minifigure, has now been announced to be opening later this month.

Those visiting the resort on March 29 can enjoy the new attraction from 12:30pm GMT. This attraction technically consists of two rollercoasters racing side-by-side. The video announcing the opening date features the first look at the new rollercoaster trains too.

The trains appear to resemble a Formula 1 race car with open wheels attached to two train cars, a spoiler at the back and a front wing with enlarged LEGO pieces used for decoration in between. The trains seem to be coloured orange and yellow as well as blue and purple.

Another recent video of Minifigure Speedway highlighted a second huge prop used as decoration on the ride and combined with the 30-foot-tall minifigure, it should stand out from the rest of the attractions at LEGOLAND Windsor.

You can ride this new rollercoaster at the resort from March 29. While you’re there, keep an eye out for this year’s LEGOLAND-exclusive LEGO set.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
