After going into administration yesterday, Toys R Us has launched a closing down sale in 25 stores.
Customers will be able to get discounts of up to 50%, or up to 60%, in 25 Toys R Us stores that are offering closing down sales. After months of uncertainty, it was announced yesterday that the UK arm of Toys R Us had gone into administration. As a result, one quarter of the retailer’s branches will reduce prices ahead of closing the doors permanently. The list matches the original list of stores that were planned to close down in this spring.
The Toys R Us website claims in a graphic that stores will offer up to 60% discounts, but in text format reduces that number to 50% – either way, bargain hunters way want to check out how much the LEGO sets have been reduced by, as everything in store is discounted to some extent.
The following stores are closing imminently, with the sale now on:
Birmingham, St Andrews
Old Kent Road
Manchester, Central Retail Park
Further stores are expected to start closing down in the coming weeks. Around 3,200 staff are affected by the demise of Toys R Us.
