Massive $170 LEGO Mario Kart set rumoured for 2025
This year’s massive Icons vehicle may be taking an unexpected turn with a LEGO Mario Kart replacement, according to a new rumour.
Instagram user lego_minecraft_goat has shared via their story that this year’s LEGO Icons vehicle model may not be part of Icons after all – instead occupied by a Mario Kart set. It’s reported that 72037 will be a Mario Kart set for $169.99 and launch in July, but they caution to take this with an extra pinch of salt.
It’s also stated that it may take up the LEGO Icons car set slot for 2025, which would usually be occupied by the likes of 10304 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 and 10337 Lamborghini Countach 5000 Quattrovalvole.
Should this be accurate, it would be an unexpected twist for the range, but a massive take on the standard kart from any of the Mario Kart games would be a fitting replacement in a year that has the portfolio occupied with plenty of other 18+ vehicle sets.
A huge Mario Kart creation would be a breath of fresh air in a year of LEGO Formula 1 in July, maybe even tying into the upcoming Mario Kart game on the Nintendo Switch 2. For now, take this with more caution than usual but this source has a reliable track record that makes this rumour one worth remembering.
