The mystery of LEGO 2K Goooal! continues in new update

The ongoing mystery of what has happened to LEGO 2K Goooal! continues with an update on a pre-order for the game raising more questions.

The LEGO Videogame Museum on X has received an update on their pre-order for LEGO 2K Goooal! on PlayStation 5, which seems to have missed an ideal launch date by a long way.

Their update states that HMV has been informed to change the release to 'To be Confirmed' (TBC) and that the order will be processed and sent out closer to whatever date the team decides on. Given the silence for the title so far, that's not likely to be soon unless a surprise launch is planned.

Since HMV has reportedly been told by 2K (who would presumably publish the title) that the release date has changed to an unknown date, it may be a sign that work on the game is continuing, or equally a sign that they no longer feel confident sticking to specific release date.

Either way, HMV hasn't yet been told to cancel pre-orders entirely which might be a good sign overall. At this point, it might be wise to forget about LEGO 2K Goooal! until anything is announced (if it ever is). That's especially wise since it was never officially revealed. At most, it was hinted at in the initial announcement of the LEGO 2K Games partnership before PlayStation listed more details.

For now, we can at least look forward to LEGO Horizon Adventures coming to PlayStation 5, PC and Nintendo Switch on November 14, 2024. Pre-orders are open now including PlayStation character outfits in the deluxe edition.
