The three new LEGO Lightyear sets blast off on LEGO.com today

Buzz Lightyear has a new, but different minifigure available today in the latest wave of Disney sets inspired by the movie of the same name.

We recently received the second trailer for Disney and Pixar’s Lightyear – the in-universe movie that inspired the character in Toy Story. For those that might be confused by that synopsis, just know that this Buzz Lightyear is not the toy, but a new version of the character.

The tone of Lightyear reflects that, with a notably more realistic look that is visible within the vehicle and character design. The three LEGO sets include many of these characters, including a brand new Zurg figure.

Featured in 76831 Zurg Battle, Buzz Lightyear can face off against the brick-built Emperor. As a bonus, this is the only set to include Buzz Lightyear in his iconic armour, as well as the purple hood.

You may even be tempted to purchase the 4+ Lightyear model – 76830 Zyclops Chase – which includes a robot minion that lends itself well to the simplistic design and enlarged elements of the younger category of sets.

Lightyear is scheduled to release in cinemas on June 17, but you can pick up these builds well before then, including the desirable selection of sci-fi elements from printed pieces to that new Zurg head.
