New LEGO Marvel BrickHeadz has superhero suit mistake

There’s a mistake on the box art of the new LEGO Marvel BrickHeadz as 40670 Iron Spider-Man showcases the wrong Spider-Man suit.

One of the new LEGO BrickHeadz that was recently revealed appears to have been confused for a similar-looking Spider-Man suit, as spotted by Ashnflash.

The side of the box, which is reserved for an image of the character that the BrickHeadz is based on, offers a look at a red, gold and white outfit. While the BrickHeadz is based on the Iron Spider outfit, the suit on the box isn’t correct.

This image depicts the Hybrid suit from Spider-Man: No Way Home, not the Iron Spider suit from Avengers: Infinity War. Infinity War is part of the Infinity Saga as advertised below the render, while Spider-Man: No Way Home is not part of this saga. This can be identified by the suit’s use of solid gold lines, instead of the Iron Spider’s blue and gold lines.

Considering the similar colour schemes between these suits, it’s not a difficult mistake to make. Hopefully it’s still early enough to catch this mistake and amend it before its release on February 1, 2024.

It’s not the first time that the LEGO Group has made a mistake on a set’s box, as has been spotted before in LEGO Star Wars. At least this doesn’t affect the model itself, provided it can’t be fixed ahead of launch.

That launch is on February 1, 2024, and you can grab 40670 Iron Spider-Man alongside Groot and more BrickHeadz from £9.99 / $9.99 / €9.99. This is also the only Spider-Man BrickHeadz beyond the Comic-Con-exclusive 41497 Spider-Man & Venom from 2017.
