New LEGO SpongeBob SquarePants sets revealed

LEGO SpongeBob SquarePants is officially back in the portfolio with the reveal of two new sets, including the biggest based on the animated series to date.

14 years after the last LEGO SpongeBob SquarePants sets were released, the franchise is back in LEGO form under two existing themes, targeting an entirely different audience than it did over a decade ago.

Read on for a closer look at both of these new builds, including one in LEGO Icons that is by far the largest LEGO SpongeBob SquarePants model to date.

11386 SpongeBob SquarePants: Bikini Bottom

Despite its animated nature and huge younger audience, one of the newly revealed sets is LEGO Icons 11386 SpongeBob SquarePants: Bikini Bottom at 1,794 pieces. This set carries a price tag of £189.99 / $219.99 / €209.99 and is aimed at an older audience aged 18 and older.

Given that SpongeBob has been on TV since 1999, fans who started watching will certainly be in that age demographic, with the disposable income to afford a £190 / $220 / €210 model. 11386 SpongeBob SquarePants: Bikini Bottom depicts SpongeBob, Squidward and Patrick's houses on Conch Street, designed to be displayed next to one another.

These models are far more detailed than any other depictions of the houses before them, explaining the increased piece count. They have full interiors, with Patrick's rock house having the smallest. Patrick's house has a TV and chair. Squidward's house has a living room, bathroom, bedroom and rooftop. SpongeBob's house has a living room and bedroom.

You'll spot several Easter eggs in 11386 SpongeBob SquarePants: Bikini Bottom, including but not limited to Penny, Chip and Used Napkin from both the 'I Had an Accident' and 'Lighthouse Louie' episodes. Also featured in the set are side builds of a boat, Jellyfish Fields, the iconic Bikini Bottom sign, Gary and DoodleBob.

There are three minifigures in 11386 SpongeBob SquarePants: Bikini Bottom – SpongeBob, Squidward and Patrick. All three have a piece specific to the character, and only Squidward's seems to be reused from the old theme.

11386 SpongeBob SquarePants: Bikini Bottom will be released on September 1 for £189.99 / $219.99 / €209.99, but it's not the only new LEGO SpongeBob SquarePants set coming later this year.

Price: £10.99 / $12.99 / €12.99 Pieces: 72 Release date: September 1, 2026

40858 SpongeBob SquarePants Figure is the more affordable option out of the new LEGO SpongeBob SquarePants sets. It also launches on September 1 and features 72 elements for £10.99 / $12.99 / €12.99.

The first SpongeBob BrickHeadz comes with a net and four printed pieces. It's a similar launch tactic to the recent wave of Shrek models, which has one larger LEGO Icons model and a BrickHeadz pack.
