New LEGO Store to open in Edinburgh next month

Edinburgh will be getting its own LEGO Store at last, with an official new shop opening up inside a brand new retail development.

The new LEGO Store in the Scottish capital will open its doors to the public on June 24 as part of the St James Quarter development. To celebrate the opening weekend, the first 250 people who visit the store and spend over £75 will receive a unique LEGO store associate minifigure and a customised ‘LEGO Store Edinburgh’ tile.

The store will also feature a ‘Build a Minifigure Tower’, a ‘Pick a Brick Wall’, and a bespoke unique build for the Edinburgh store that will be unveiled on the day it opens.

As well as in the in-store activities and offers, the LEGO Group is also promoting the opening with a brick-built phone box standing alongside the Royal Mile’s trio of existing red cubicles. For a month after the store opens, the LEGO phone box will be moved to different spots around St James Quarter for curious shoppers to find.

“We know there are many loyal LEGO fans in Edinburgh, so we are thrilled to be able to bring the LEGO Store experience to this amazing city,” says Alison Wood, LEGO Stores UK, Benelux and Scandinavia District Senior Manager in a statement to press. “We cannot wait to welcome the local community through our doors to enjoy exclusive in-store experiences, brand new products and endless activities!”
