Two new licensed cars join the Technic collection today. 42138 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 features a vibrant green paint job and two pull-back motors for some added play value. Similar motors also appear in 42137 Formula E Porsche 99X Electric, which – as its name suggests – is drawn straight from the race track. These motors allow you to control energy input with greater accuracy.
Both of these models also benefit from a new AR experience. A new LEGO Technic AR app can scan the model and bring it to life in thrilling races. This app will likely launch when the sets do next year.
Two of the other sets in the 2022 lineup sport the Monster Jam branding, and take a walk on the wild side. 42135 Monster Jam El Toro Loco draws inspiration from a bull, while 42134 Monster Jam Megalodon is more shark-like. Each of these can be rebuilt into an alternate model.
The last 2022 set, 43132 Motorcycle, lacks any obvious branding. However, with a small piece count (and a similarly small price) it’s an easy impulse buy for any Technic fan. All of these sets are scheduled for release on January 1, 2022, and you can take a look at each below:
