New record set for largest LEGO Star Wars diorama ever

A team of 26 builders led by a father-son duo have set a new Guinness World record for the largest LEGO Star Wars diorama ever.

Three years of work has led to the long-awaited display of the largest LEGO Star Wars diorama ever, as recognised by the Guinness World Book of Records at East European Comic Con 2024 in Romania. A team of 26 Romanian LEGO builders from RoLUG (LEGO User Group from Romania) took part in the build, led by the father-son duo of builders, Bence and Botond Czilli, who share their work on Instagram as bens_builds_. To make it a true community effort, the last few bricks were placed by visitors to the event, with each person adding a single piece to the enormous build.

The model depicts Lothal, the planet seen most often in the animated series Rebels, and is made up of over 1.2 million pieces. It covers 45,746 square meters and is made up entirely of LEGO pieces, with the support of the LEGO Group. All landforms, from the bulbous Imperial Complex to smaller local structures from the planet Lothal have been captured, brought to life with models of battleships and over 1,500 minifigures placed in cinematic poses.
