New Star Wars Jedi: Survivor feature offers further LEGO 75335 BD-1 customisation

The start of a month of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor news has revealed a new feature that could inspire an interesting change to LEGO 75335 BD-1

New gameplay of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has been revealed by IGN in advance of the game’s recently delayed release date of April 28, 2023.

During the first minute of this footage, a brand new feature of BD-1 is revealed with the droid now able to act as a pair of binoculars, or the BD Visor as it is named in the sequel.

While looking through the droid, players will be able to tag distant objects for later exploration. BD-1 is the subject of only LEGO Star Wars set based on Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and that set should be just as relevant to the sequel.

However, with this new feature in mind, one minor change can make 75335 BD-1 more accurate to the upcoming game. At the back of 75335 BD-1, translucent elements are included to depict the droid’s mood. It appears from the gameplay that Cal looks directly into this part of BD-1 while using the visor.

This part of 75335 BD-1 isn’t hard to modify and one way to approach this feature of the droid in the sequel could be to take a page from LEGO Art’s book and depict a small scene using tiles for Cal to spot in the distance using one-stud curved tiles

It’s admittedly not a lot of space to work with on the nearly life-sized BD-1 build, but the other option for recreating this feature is to take advantage of the scale of 75335 BD-1 and re-enact the gameplay for yourself, not that you’ll be able to see anything or place beacons in the distance.
