Official Opening for LEGOLAND Dubai

After months of build-up and a soft launch over the weekend, LEGOLAND Dubai has officially opened its doors to the public. As part of the new Dubai Parks and Resort area, the theme park has opened alongside Riverland Dubai, an area for shopping and dining.

One visitor, who spoke to The National, highlighted both the positives and negatives.

Katerina Kovalenko, from Russia, said it was perfect for young children including her daughter Liya, 4.

“This is our first visit to a Legoland so didn’t know what to expect,” said Ms Kovalenko, who lives in Dubai. “The buildings are amazing but the rides that are open seem more suitable for younger children.

“There are a few things that are not finished yet, but they’ve done well to open on time.”

The many areas that make up LEGOLAND Dubai will be familiar to those who have visited the other theme park locations around the world, with the location having led to an undercover, air conditioned Miniland being constructed. To have the park visibly still under construction on opening day is a surprise, given the amount of investment and hype that has gone along with its opening.
