Completing LEGO 71837 NINJAGO City Workshops needs one more set

LEGO NINJAGO 71837 NINJAGO City Workshops won't be complete without one more set, as NINPLA stock has been spotted in a new build.

71837 NINJAGO City Workshops was released earlier this year to expand the extensive NINJAGO City range with a mech-centric model. The mech links in the set extended to a shop on the upper level, riffing on the Gunpla community with the NINPLA store. The store doesn't have a huge interior, but it does have a mech build on display as well as five mech models on the shelves, still mint in their boxes.

The mechs on the shelves of the NINPLA store represent Nya, Lloyd, Cole, Jay and Zane, leaving Kai suspiciously absent from the lineup and with space for at least one more mech box to fit comfortably on the shelves. Thankfully, we now know that Kai was being sold in the store at one point.

The missing Kai mech box appears in the upcoming 71848 Temple Bounty, as spotted by Bricks by Mind in an early review of the summer set. Precisely which minifigure in 71848 The Temple Bounty made the trip out to 71837 NINJAGO City Workshops to purchase this mech is unknown, but you can add it to the store and complete the stock when 71848 The Temple Bounty is released on June 1 in the UK and Europe, or August 1 in the US.

The mech on the box is unmistakably 71812 Kai's Ninja Climber Mech, which is also still available. It has an additional tile in the set, but removing it will allow you to fit it on the NINPLA shelf perfectly. You might also want to apply the sticker with the studs facing the opposite direction to place it next to Nya's mech box.

71837 NINJAGO City Workshops is available now for £219.99 / $249.99 / €249.99, and whether you choose to restock NINPLA or not, the set is an interesting addition to the NINJAGO City range and you can see how it compares to the other, bigger builds in our full report.
