One Piece Netflix star reacts to upcoming LEGO sets
The star of Netflix’s One Piece, Iñaki Godoy, has got his first look at the upcoming LEGO One Piece sets, due for release on August 1.
One Piece star Iñaki Godoy, who plays main character Luffy in the Netflix live-action series, has got his first look at the LEGO One Piece sets, seemingly on the very same day that he found out that he would be getting a minifigure version of his character.
“Oh my god!” Iñaki exclaimed. “It’s a One Piece LEGO set? It’s live-action inspired?”
Iñaki goes on to point out some of his favourite details, including 75636 Windmill Village Hut and 75639 The Going Merry Pirate Ship, including Gold Roger’s wanted poster and the devil fruit. He also highlights the characters now getting their very own minifigures, including Shanks and Luffy, proceeding to act out a fight scene between the two of them, sending the tiny version of his own character whirling through the air in a triple flip.
When presented with 75639 The Going Merry Pirate Ship, Iñaki complimented the level of detail on the set, saying: “They even have the drinks and stuff. The cannon is here. Oh my god – he’s holding my wanted poster!
“This is incredible, I love this. This is actually how it looks. Every time I go to set and we shoot on the Going Merry, this is actually how it looks. They got everything spot on.”
You can’t say accuracy more than that. The sets also make Iñaki’s day on a personal level, with the actor saying: “I’m crying inside right now, this is a dream come true.”
