August is one of the biggest LEGO release months of the year, and with 67 new sets hitting shelves, there is a huge selection of new and exclusive minifigures to collect.
The LEGO Group has been on a roll this summer, announcing a wide variety of new sets across fresh themes while continuing to expand some of its most popular collections. The new LEGO Editions sets have become known for their incredibly detailed minifigures, while the latest LEGO Ideas releases are no different.
From One Piece’s wild characters to a fantastic month for LEGO Star Wars minifigures, there are plenty of standout designs arriving on August 1. Here are 10 of the best new and exclusive minifigures releasing this month.
Olivia Rodrigo – Cheerleader Outfit
All of the minifigures in the upcoming LEGO Editions Olivia Rodrigo range are packed with detail, but the artist’s cheerleader outfit from 43030 Olivia Rodrigo’s Secret Storage is arguably the standout.
The minifigure recreates her iconic ‘Good 4 U’ cheerleader look, featuring dual-moulded arms, dual-moulded legs, and specialised printing across the face, hips, side of the legs, and toes.
Flukeman
The Flukeman minifigure from 21369 The X-Files is based on the gruesome mutant sewer creature from the famous X-Files Season 2 episode.
While the minifigure’s arms and legs are relatively plain, the wrinkles printed across the torso and its disturbing face print make it a memorable addition. It is also a character LEGO fans will likely never see recreated again.
Grey Alien
Also included in 21369 The X-Files, the Grey Alien minifigure stands out thanks to its completely new head mould.
The minifigure features shorter moveable legs and an alien-style body, but it is the unusual head shape and detailed printing that make it one of the most unique minifigures of the month.
Lab Coat Dana Scully
Lab Coat Dana Scully is only available through 40896 The X-Files: Scully's Lab, the gift-with-purchase accompanying 21369 The X-Files purchases from August 1 to 10, or while stocks last.
The exclusive hair piece is shared between the two Dana Scully minifigures, while the lab coat and printed goggles help bring this version of the character to life. Beyond The X-Files, the minifigure also offers plenty of opportunities for customising other builds, including hospital and science-themed scenes.
King Wapol
In the latest wave of One Piece sets which are based on Season 2 of the live-action Netflix series, King Wapol is arguably the standout minifigure.
Featured in 75645 Battle at Drum Castle, the design includes his mechanical lower jaw, distinctive white hat and cape, shoulder armour, and detailed torso and leg printing.
Tony Tony Chopper
Also appearing in 75645 Battle at Drum Castle as well as 75641 Dr. Hiriluk’s Hideout, Tony Tony Chopper is a first-of-its-kind minifigure.
The character uses a new type of babyfig with articulated hands and looks fantastic with his oversized hat and horns. The two sets technically feature different versions of Chopper thanks to their unique face prints, but both deserve recognition.
Zinnia
Representing her role as a Draconid Trainer and Lorekeeper from Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Zinnia is the first-ever LEGO Pokémon minifigure.
Her design in 72168 Rayquaza features phenomenal leg printing and clever use of a cape element, making her a brilliant introduction to LEGO Pokémon’s minifigure lineup.
Embo
LEGO Star Wars features an impressive selection of minifigures this month, but none are as anticipated as Embo.
Found in 75451 Hutt Palace Sentry Droid Showdown, it’s the bounty hunter’s first minifigure in 15 years. The updated design includes a darker green skin tone, a new printed hat piece, and excellent torso and leg detailing.
Boba Fett
Boba Fett may be one of the most common LEGO Star Wars minifigures, but versions this detailed are much rarer.
The latest design in 75455 Boba Fett features the latest rangefinder element, accurate light grey arms, detailed printing, and a cape draped over his shoulder. It is one of, if not the, the most accurate LEGO version of the legendary bounty hunter yet.
Imperial Remnant Snowtrooper
Seen in the opening scene of The Mandalorian and Grogu, the Imperial Remnant Snowtrooper now arrives in LEGO form through 75454 Imperial Remnant AT-AT with INT-4.
Rather than using the traditional long hooded helmet piece, this version removes the covering to reveal the character’s ventilators. It is a fresh and exciting take on one of LEGO Star Wars’ most recognisable army builders.
These are just 10 of the best minifigures arriving in August, but with more than 50 sets not featured here, there are plenty of other fantastic characters to discover when the new releases launch on August 1.
