The latest fan-designed creation to make it into the second LEGO Ideas review of 2026 has taken a familiar concept and turned it on its head.
The second LEGO Ideas review of 2026 has swelled its ranks of successful submissions with yet another model that’s managed to drum up 10K supporters. This time it’s the turn of Upside-Down House: Bookstore from YellowBox, with an altogether different take on a standard modular building resulting in a fresh angle on such familiar designs.
The result is a solid LEGO Ideas submission and one that is based on real-world structures that have been constructed in the same manner. During the creation of Upside-Down House: Bookstore, the fan designer also realised that the model’s roof gave the feel of an open book, which is fitting considering the set’s subject matter.
The LEGO Ideas build is comprised of three separate removable sections, with two levels of the bookstore completed with a colourful rooftop garden. Upside-Down House: Bookstore has very little contact with the base of the build, which required careful consideration when initially being designed.
There are plenty of nooks and crannies to explore in the LEGO Ideas submission and Upside-Down House: Bookstore would certainly make for a striking display piece indeed. In addition, the model is completed with a selection of minifigures, which can be placed in multiple locations around the set.
For now though, Upside-Down House: Bookstore joins 29 other builds in the second LEGO Ideas review of 2026, while the model waits to see what fate has in store for it sometime in early 2027.
