The Drivers’ Parade at today’s British Grand Prix has been replaced by a LEGO minicar race, and here’s how you can watch it.
It was announced earlier this week that all 22 Formula 1 drivers would take part in the LEGO contest following the success of a similar event ahead of last year’s Miami Grand Prix.
While the British Grand Prix itself is scheduled to begin at 3pm BST, the LEGO race is set to get underway two hours earlier at 1pm BST.
The race will be broadcast on Sky Sports and Channel 4, while Formula 1’s YouTube channel will host a dedicated stream for the LEGO event. The channel will also show build-up coverage from 12:58am BST, which you can watch here.
The event has attracted criticism from drivers Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen this week. Hamilton, who earlier this year received his own LEGO set with 43022 Scuderia Ferrari HP Lewis Hamilton Helmet, initially claimed he would not take part.

However, Ferrari have since confirmed that he will. Verstappen, meanwhile, said the race would make the drivers ‘look like kids and clowns’.
Each brick-built car was designed by a team of more than 20 people and assembled using approximately 616,000 LEGO pieces. The cars are capable of reaching speeds of up to 25km/h.
Last year’s event in Miami was won by Alpine duo Pierre Gasly and Jack Doohan. Since then, Doohan has moved to Haas and is no longer a full-time race driver. Will there be a new winner today, or can Gasly retain his LEGO F1 crown?
