Rumoured LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog set could get star-studded boost
A new casting report for the third Sonic the Hedgehog movie could give a rumoured LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog set a boost later this year.
As well as 76995 Shadow the Hedgehog Escape featuring the first Shadow minifigure based on the Sonic the Hedgehog games, 77000 Shadow Bust is rumoured for October, just months before the release of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 on December 20, 2024.
Now, it seems that the officially-released model and the rumoured set could both receive a star-studded boost as The Hollywood Reporter is stating that Keanu Reeves has been cast as Shadow the Hedgehog in live action.
Reeves could be joining Idris Elba as Knuckles, Ben Schwartz as Sonic and Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Tails. Even for the third film based on the popular franchise, the casting appears to be a surprising mix of stars, experienced voice actors and a member of the main Sonic the Hedgehog cast.
While Shadow’s minifigure in 76995 Shadow the Hedgehog Escape is based on the games and not the movie specifically, it could be considered the second Keanu Reeves minifigure provided this casting is accurate. It slots in just behind Duke Caboom from the 10767 Duke Caboom’s Stunt Show.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 releases on December 20 and while 77000 Shadow Bust remains a rumour for now and should be taken with caution, 76995 Shadow the Hedgehog Escape is available to pick up ready for the third film later this year.

Keanu Reeves has actually received a Lego representation as a minifigure before, in the form of Duke Caboom from Toy Story 4.
