Second to last BrickLink Designer Program set sells out

The story of the first phase of the BrickLink Designer Program continues as just one project remains available to order, following four of the five LEGO sets fulfilling their maximum funding.

Builders who were looking to buy Jason Allemann’s Pursuit of Flight for themselves as part of the first round of the BrickLink Designer Program may have missed their plane as the rejected LEGO Ideas project is now soaring into production.

Using forced perspective, the kinetic build tells the story of two pilots chasing each other through the sky in their fantastic flying machines as the ground passes by beneath them, the tale can be reconfigured using any of the three alternative planes too. Pursuit of Flight has now reached the maximum of 5,000 supporters needed to become a real LEGO set.

This consequently means that just one project is left to pre-order out of the five that managed to make it into the production phase. It seems that a lot of builders love the LEGO Kakapo as the project is nearing the maximum amount of orders too.

The builds have undoubtedly proven themselves popular, with even the other submissions such as BIONICLE Legends making it to 1,000 supporters within the first day. However, some of those may have been from scalpers, as several of them have already been put on the secondary marketplace.

We’ll keep you updated on the latest from the BrickLink Designer Program as the situation continues to develop, we have a feeling that this round won’t last the 41 days the team were expecting it to at this point.
