Seven worthwhile LEGO Arkham Asylum minifigure upgrades

Seven worthwhile LEGO Arkham Asylum minifigure upgrades

The upcoming LEGO DC 76300 Arkham Asylum has minifigures in need of a costume change, and upgrading them isn't impossible.

MiniSuperHeroesToday has taken a closer look at 76300 Arkham Asylum, which launches later in September 2025 with 16 minifigures to populate the modular asylum model. While some of these minifigures are new, others are more familiar. Unfortunately for some, they are outfitted in orange jumpsuits compared to their more iconic appearances.

Thankfully, for those disappointed with these 76300 Arkham Asylum minifigures, MiniSuperHeroesToday has some upgrades in mind for them, taking inspiration from the Arkham video game series. You can check out their video by clicking below, before reading on for a list of prices for these upgrades.

Their video also details a minifigure upgrade for Batman, but it changes almost every part of the minifigure, which could prove to be pricey. Most of the suggested villain upgrades are more affordable, and since most of them are in orange jumpsuits, they're much more crucial. Here's how they suggest upgrading the villains in 76300 Arkham Asylum to get them out of their orange jumpsuits.

Bane

Bane's minifigure in 76300 Arkham Asylum is one of the easiest to upgrade, adding in the torso from the 2016 LEGO Dimensions Bane figure while keeping his orange jumpsuit legs to showcase his muscular form.

It's a remarkable improvement in terms of accuracy, and you can find this minifigure torso on BrickLink for an average of £5.20 at the time of writing.

Killer Croc

Killer Croc is by far the easiest minifigure to upgrade, adding a pair of one-stud plates to extend his height, as well as Lizard's torso from 76280 Spider-Man vs. Sandman: Final Battle. The LEGO Marvel model is available now for £31.99 / $37.99 / €37.99, or you can find just the torso on BrickLink for an average of £1.80 right now.

MiniSuperHeroesToday also suggests cutting up a pair of LEGO handcuffs and adding them to Killer Croc's wrists, but it's not an essential upgrade by any means should you wish to avoid damaging a piece.

Joker

Joker's Torso and legs from the retired 76224 Batmobile: Batman vs. The Joker Chase is a good idea to upgrade 76300 Arkham Asylum's Joker minifigure, with just the torso available on BrickLink for around £1.94.

Any purple Joker torso and legs will work just as well in upgrading 76300 Arkham Asylum's Joker minifigure, though, and DC fans are sure to have one spare somewhere in their collection.

Harley Quinn

Harley Quinn's minifigure in 76300 Arkham Asylum will be much more costly to upgrade, provided you're aiming for an appearance similar to that of the Arkham game series. MiniSuperHeroesToday proposes using most of the minifigure from The LEGO Batman Movie, which costs about £30.02 on BrickLink, as well as Harley's blonde hair from earlier minifigures, costing an average of £4.90.

Alternatively, you could source a non-orange Harley outfit from the currently available 76274 Batman with the Batmobile vs Harley Quinn and Mr. Freeze for £54.99 / $59.99 / €59.99. It all depends on how accurate you want to be to the Arkham games.

Riddler

Riddler's new minifigure in 76300 Arkham Asylum is practically perfect, but there's an easy and inexpensive upgrade to reference a collectable from the Arkham game series that you can add.

Make use of the question mark symbol piece from 70903 The Riddler Riddle Racer, and you'll have a small Riddler trophy to hide around the asylum. Thankfully, this element isn't too pricey either, costing an average of £4.02 on BrickLink, but there are several listings for much less.

Scarecrow

MiniSuperHeroesToday has a couple of ideas to upgrade Scarecrow, who is entirely in an orange jumpsuit in 76300 Arkham Asylum. Their pitch is to use the torso and legs from the retired 76054 Batman: Scarecrow Harvest of Fear, which would set you back around £8.68 on BrickLink.

They also suggest adding in a basic brown hood to match his Arkham game appearance, and even just adding the hood to his orange jumpsuit attire would go a long way in upgrading this minifigure's appearance.

Penguin

Penguin is another easy minifigure to upgrade and get out of the orange jumpsuit. Using his torso from 10937 Arkham Asylum Breakout, as well as some short black legs – or the dual-moulded grey variant currently in use in LEGO Harry Potter – can quickly change the look of this minifigure.

Alternatively, any sharp-suited torso piece combined with the short legs will do the job just fine in getting Penguin a more fashionable outfit in 76300 Arkham Asylum. Upgrading the minifigures in the new LEGO DC model isn't too costly, depending on how accurate you want to be to the Arkham video games.

76300 Arkham Asylum launches on September 9, and pre-orders are still open for the first LEGO DC modular building.
