LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is just over a month away from release, with many fans eager to get their hands on it. The action-adventure game is one of the most ambitious titles TT Games has ever produced, taking in all nine major films in the Star Wars franchise. It’s reportedly making a host of improvements to The LEGO game formula, with improved combat, exploration and character upgrades.
In keeping with previous LEGO games, The Skywalker Saga is due to see a very wide release. It’ll be available to play on PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S from April 5 onwards. PS4 fans can even enjoy a free PS5 upgrade, provided their PS5 has a disc drive.
However, anyone hoping to play it on the Steam Deck will be disappointed. The game’s official product page confirms it’s incompatible with the device at the moment.
The Steam Deck is a new, powerful handheld gaming device that’s being produced by Valve — developers of the Half-Life video games and operator of the Steam video game storefront. Similar in form factor to the Nintendo Switch, the Steam Deck is reportedly powerful enough to run many of the latest game releases. Logging in with a Steam account will show which of your games can be played on it, with multiple levels of compatibility at the moment. Sadly, The Skywalker Saga isn’t currently on the ‘compatible’ list.
LEGO fans hoping to buy the Steam Deck won’t be completely disappointed. According to The Direct, several other LEGO games will be compatible with the Steam Deck upon its release. These include LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, LEGO DC Super Villains and early release LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga. It’s also possible The Skywalker Saga will become compatible with the Steam Deck in the future.
For now, though, it may be wise to wait for official confirmation you can play it on this device.
