Sounds like Rotta’s back on the menu for LEGO Star Wars
A fresh rumour has just filled one of the few remaining gaps in the LEGO Star Wars 2026 slate, and it sounds like everyone’s favourite Hutt (no, not that one) is back on the menu…
Instagram user lego_minecraft_goat reports that 75451 Hutt and Droid will debut in August, with 415 pieces in the box for $49.99 in the US and €49.99 in Europe. There’s very little else to go on at the moment, but we know two things for sure: the LEGO Star Wars team is going big on The Mandalorian & Grogu this year, and Rotta the Hutt is returning to screens in the cinematic adventure.
Don’t remember Rotta? Fair enough, his biggest role was in the part of the 2008 animated Clone Wars series most of us have tried to forget (the original movie), and back then he was a tiny little baby. But if you’ve seen any of the trailers for The Mandalorian & Grogu, you’ll also have seen Jabba the Hutt’s son (for that’s who Rotta is, of course) as a fully-grown adult, voiced by Jeremy Allen White.
Thanks to the onslaught of Clone Wars sets that hit shelves in 2008, we’ve seen Rotta in LEGO form before, but again only as an infant. If he is indeed the subject of 75451 Hutt and Droid – and we’re only speculating here – it’ll be interesting to see if he’s a brick-built character, or if the LEGO Group is hoping to get a little more mileage out of the Jabba the Hutt mould that returned in 2024’s 75397 Jabba’s Sail Barge.
Given its rumoured price-per-piece ratio, though, only one of those scenarios feels realistic. And it isn’t the one where we get a moulded Star Wars character in a relatively cheap set…
