Star Wars: The Acolyte set to be first ‘Sith-led’ series
The upcoming The Acolyte Star Wars series has been explained as the first Sith-led project, despite an official synopsis suggesting otherwise.
As part of the cast for Star Wars: The Acolyte, Dafne Keen has stated that the series will be the first Sith-led project in the history of the franchise.
“It’s set 100 years before the prequel movies, and it’s kind of an explanation of how the Sith infiltrated the Jedi,” said Dafne Keen to TechRadar. “It’s a Sith-led story, which has never been done before.”
These comments may not be entirely accurate as an official synopsis states that The Acolyte will centre around a former Padawan reuniting with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, discovering that the forces they confront are more sinister than they anticipated. While the latter half of that synopsis is especially vague, it suggests that the Jedi and Padawan duo will lead the series, not Sith as Keen states.
However, it’s also possible that this synopsis is designed to misconstrue our expectations of the series, and that The Acolyte will be either Sith-led or split between Jedi and Sith equally. We’ll have to wait until its release to know for certain. Currently, The Acolyte has no release date though production has started.
