Star Wars: The Mandalorian will reportedly end with Season 3

The third season of Star Wars: The Mandalorian will apparently be the show’s last, which means we could soon be moving on from Mando-themed LEGO sets.

According to Making Star WarsJason Ward, the first live-action Star Wars series will wrap up with its third season, which is expected to arrive sometime in 2022. If that’s true, it means we could be leaving behind Din Djarin, Grogu and the gang sooner than anticipated, largely because the post-Mando Star Wars TV slate is so stacked that there may not be room in the portfolio to revisit the show once it’s done and dusted.

Fortunately, there’s plenty of Mando goodness to tuck into on shelves at the moment. Between 75311 Imperial Armored Marauder, 75312 Boba Fett’s Starship and 75315 Imperial Light Cruiser, the LEGO Star Wars team has just spent almost an entire wave playing catch-up on The Mandalorian’s second season, which originally debuted on Disney+ in 2020.

Now that the LEGO Group is acutely aware of just how popular the series is, expect (or at least hope for) further sets to land on shelves in tandem with the third season. In the meantime, early 2022 could bring us sets based on The Book of Boba Fett, a Mandalorian spin-off that will premiere at the end of this year.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
