Ten new must-have LEGO sets

Of the new June LEGO sets, which are the 10 that fans should most seriously consider picking up?

The LEGO Group just dropped a huge product launch on fans, offering an array of exciting new sets to tantalise collectors. From City, to NINJAGO, to Creator Expert, many favourite themes are offering fresh new products that will appeal to fans. But where to start when over 100 new sets launch all in one go? Brick Fanatics has compiled the ten most tempting sets from the June 1 launch…

The original LEGO version of this New York landmark, 3450 Statue of Liberty, now commands an eye wateringly high price on the secondary market, beyond the reach of most fans. What’s more, those who do own it struggle to find space to have the impressive statue on display. 21042 The Statue of Liberty is a nice compromise that looks the part, can fit on a shelf and is even reasonably priced.

LEGO_70657_NINJAGO_City_Docks_3
It is very hard to decide whether the sets in The LEGO Batman Movie or The LEGO NINJAGO Movie themes are the better of the two. Both themes offer an elevated level of quality, taking the existing themes and giving them a Creator level of detail. The mechs in The LEGO NINJAGO Movie theme could not go any bigger because of putting too much strain on the LEGO joint elements, for goodness sake. Of those amazing sets released last year, 70620 NINJAGO City was the standout, and this new release should make for a great companion piece to that beautiful modular.

[geot exclude_country=”United States”]76109 Quantum Realm Explorers[/geot][geot country=”United States”]76109 Quantum Realm Explorers[/geot]

LEGO_Marvel_76109_Quantum_Realm_Explorers
Marvel movies do not always get much love in the LEGO range, and Ant-Man and the Wasp is only getting one set inspired by the film. That is fine though, when the one set includes the two title characters and what will presumably be their primary vehicle used to explore the Quantum Realm.

[geot exclude_country=”United States”]42083 Bugatti Chiron[/geot][geot country=”United States”]42083 Bugatti Chiron[/geot]

42083_Front
Some sets appeal beyond the usual fan base for a theme, and [geot exclude_country=”United States”]42083 Bugatti Chiron[/geot][geot country=”United States”]42083 Bugatti Chiron[/geot] definitely qualifies in that regard. Those who might usually overlook the LEGO Technic theme will want to consider this latest detailed supercar, as it looks absolutely fantastic when complete and will provide hours of building enjoyment to get there. With the close collaboration between the LEGO Group and Bugatti, this set is something rather special.

[geot exclude_country=”United States”]41455 Unikingdom Creative Brick Box[/geot][geot country=”United States”]41455 Unikingdom Creative Brick Box[/geot]

LEGO_Unikitty_41455_Unkingdom_Creative_Brick_BoxUnikitty! is weird. It is a weird cartoon, with weird LEGO sets too. But it is so much fun and so different to anything else in the current LEGO product portfolio that it will tempt even the dourest of brick fanatics. If any one set is recommended from the theme, it has to be 41455 Unikingdom Creative Brick Box – the mix of parts offers most of the theme’s bespoke and printed pieces, while avoiding the prescriptive building of the rest of the range.

[geot exclude_country=”United States”]60200 Capital City[/geot][geot country=”United States”]60200 Capital City[/geot]

LEGO_City_60200_Capital_2
Police, firefighters, construction. Lather, rinse, repeat. LEGO City offers the same evergreen subthemes for new children coming to the range, but that does not help adult fans looking for something fresh to add to the collection. While the Arctic subtheme might be wacky and offer some prehistoric beasts, it does not fit in as well with an existing setup as 60200 Capital City, which contains a selection of must-have models for a city centre environment.

[geot exclude_country=”United States”]LEGO Creator Expert 10261 Roller Coaster[/geot][geot country=”United States”]LEGO Creator Expert 10261 Roller Coaster[/geot]

LEGO_Creator_Expert_10261_Rollercoaster_2
This set has been on early release for a few weeks for VIP card holders, but still makes the list as it is just irresistible. Anyone who has not dropped into a LEGO Store recently should do so just to see this in action, and then decide to buy it. For years fans have sought this kind of roller coaster solution and now the LEGO Group has provided it. Few sets at this size manage to pack in so much fun, opting for detail instead. Of all of the June 1 launch sets, this is the one that will be the best conversation starter when on display.

[geot exclude_country=”United States”]41347 Heartlake City Resort[/geot][geot country=”United States”]41347 Heartlake City Resort[/geot]

LEGO_Friends_41347_Heartlake_City_Resort
At times, LEGO Friends feels like LEGO Paradisa on steroids. For those who enjoy the theme’s beachside holiday offerings, [geot exclude_country=”United States”]41347 Heartlake City Resort[/geot][geot country=”United States”]41347 Heartlake City Resort[/geot] will make an amazing centrepiece to a larger display. With an excellent heart centrepiece and slides for some added fun, this set is packed with the detail this theme is known for. Like so many other new sets, it also makes use of the new coaster track.

[geot exclude_country=”United States”]70655 Dragon Pit[/geot][geot country=”United States”]70655 Dragon Pit[/geot]

LEGO_NINJAGO_70655_Dragon_Pit_4
This latest batch of LEGO NINJAGO sets looks to have been inspired a little by Mad Max, offering some rather dystopian looking vehicles and settings, made up of blacks and browns. By contrast, the heroic ninja have colourful dragons – who it seems may well need to be rescued from [geot exclude_country=”United States”]70655 Dragon Pit[/geot][geot country=”United States”]70655 Dragon Pit[/geot]. For those looking for an awesome LEGO playset, this is very worthy of consideration.

[geot exclude_country=”United States”]60204 Hospital[/geot][geot country=”United States”]60204 Hospital[/geot]

LEGO_City_60204_Hospital_3
For the first time in years, a genuinely worthwhile hospital is joining the LEGO City theme. With multiple stories and a nice clean colour scheme, it is certainly worth considering adding to the collection. With new features such as a vision testing room as well as hospital staples such as an operating theatre, this is worth checking out for those fans who already own a hospital or two as well as those fans who do not.

All of the sets listed above are currently available from [geot exclude_country=”United States”]shop.LEGO.com[/geot][geot country=”United States”]shop.LEGO.com[/geot].
