The 10 biggest LEGO sets of 2022

As we round out another year of LEGO models, there’s been more than a few massive builds this year, including 10307 Eiffel Tower.

From another addition to the LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collectors Series based on a certain popular streaming series to the new tallest LEGO model of all time, 2022 has been a big year, literally, for the LEGO Group and its product portfolio.

We’re only a few weeks away from the start of another year and so it’s time to see what huge sets the LEGO Group released in 2022, and we’d be remiss not to mention the double VIP points event being held until December 13, 2022. Just in case you fancy picking up one, multiple or even all of the models listed below provided you have a hefty budget.

Here are the 10 biggest LEGO sets launched in 2022, in order of piece count ascending.

10 – 31204 Elvis Presley “The King”

Theme: LEGO Art Price: £104.99 / $119.99 / €119.99 Pieces: 3,445 Release date: March 1

LEGO Art’s many mosaics have comparable piece counts, though it depends based on the alternate builds available and that puts 31204 Elvis Presley “The King” at the bottom of the list with 3,445 pieces with two other official alternate mosaics. Currently, in the UK and Europe, the model is reduced to £73.49 / €83.99 too.

9 – 10303 Loop Coaster

Theme: LEGO Icons Price: £344.99 / $399.99 / €399.99 Pieces: 3,756 Release date: July 1

Following in the footsteps, or track, of 10261 Roller Coaster, 10303 Loop Coaster is the first LEGO roller coaster model to officially included a loop with 3,756 pieces used.

8 – 42143 Ferrari Daytona SP3

Theme: LEGO Technic Price: £389.99 / $449.99 / €449.99 Pieces: 3,778 Release date: June 1

Acting as the latest addition to the LEGO Technic massive supercar recreations, 42143 Ferrari Daytona SP3 uses 3,778 elements to create a functional LEGO Technic model with online rewards available via a unique serial number too.

7 – 76210 Hulkbuster

Theme: LEGO Marvel Price: £474.99 / $549.99 / €549.99 Pieces: 4,049 Release date: November 4

Though the proportions aren’t correct due to it fitting 76206 Iron Man Figure inside, 76210 Hulkbuster is still the biggest LEGO Marvel model using over 4,000 pieces.

6 – 31205 Jim Lee Batman Collection

Theme: LEGO Art Price: £104.99 / $119.99 / €119.99 Pieces: 4,167 Release date: March 1

March was a notable month for LEGO Art with the Elvis mosaic accompanied by 31205 Jim Lee Batman Collection, the first DC depiction in LEGO Art with options for The Joker, Harley Quinn, Batman or more if you have multiple copies.

5 – 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle

Theme: LEGO Icons Price: £344.99 / $399.99 / €399.99 Pieces: 4,514 Release date: August 3

Designed for the 90th anniversary of the LEGO Group, 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle is a true return to LEGO Castle with references, details and plenty of pieces to create one of the most notable LEGO fortresses of all time.

4 – 76405 Hogwarts Express Collectors’ Edition

Theme: LEGO Harry Potter Price: £429.99 / $499.99 / €499.99 Pieces: 5,129 Release date: August 31

LEGO Harry Potter has had an interesting year too with a new and enormous model of the Hogwarts Express and the iconic platform. However, even with over 5,000 pieces one of the most interesting parts of 76405 Hogwarts Express Collectors Edition is the minifigures with some based on the final scene of the franchise.

3 – 10299 Real Madrid – Santiago Bernabéu Stadium

Theme: LEGO Icons Price: £344.99 / $399.99 / €399.99 Pieces: 5,876 Release date: March 1

The LEGO Group’s recent fascination with stadiums continued in 2022 with 10299 Real Madrid – Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, featuring recognisable areas for fans of Real Madrid CF even down to the team’s bus.

2 – 75331 The Razor Crest

Theme: LEGO Star Wars Price: £519.99 / $599.99 / €599.99 Pieces: 6,187 Release date: October 3

The second half of 2022 was certainly an expensive time for LEGO fans with several massive LEGO models including 75331 The Razor Crest. Din Djarin’s ship has been recreated faithfully inside and out with exclusive minifigures to boot. With 6,187 pieces, it’s not exactly a small LEGO Star Wars set, even for the Ultimate Collectors Series.

1 – 10307 Eiffel Tower

Theme: LEGO Icons Price: £104.99 / $119.99 / €119.99 Pieces: 10,001 Release date: November 25

Launched just over two weeks ago, 10307 Eiffel Tower tops the chart easily with over 10,000 pieces. You’re going to need a big wallet and a large amount of space to add this build to your collection but makes sense since this is the tallest LEGO set of all time and arguably the biggest not counting 31203 World Map and its many small tiles.
