What might the LEGO Group reveal at San Diego Comic Con?

San Diego Comic Con 2022 kicks off next month, with rumours suggesting that the LEGO Group may have some sort of presence at the show.

Following cancellations over the past two years due to the pandemic, next month’s San Diego Comic Con will be taking place from July 21 to 24. The three-day show has become a massive annual event, with numerous media companies, pop culture brands and celebrity guests all in attendance.

The year’s event marks the return of fans in person for the first time since 2019, which is sure to see a multitude of people descending on the San Diego Convention Center in force. The show will include all sorts of panels, interviews, cosplay competitions, dealer tables and screenings to attend. In addition, there is always plenty of exclusive merchandise to be picked up and exciting new product reveals.

Although the LEGO Group has yet to officially announce its participation in San Diego Comic Con 2022, rumours suggest the company may have some sort of presence at the event. The Unofficial SDDC Blog reports that a number of major toy companies will be revealing exclusives and announcing presales on special items in the coming weeks. The site does mention the LEGO brand when discussing exclusives, but no additional information is supplied.

Adding fuel to the fire, Instagram user 1414falconfan has posted an image of the event’s logo and stated, ‘We should be seeing reveals for SDCC (exclusive sets, exclusive figures, and possibly new sets) very soon.’

The LEGO Group has a long tradition of creating limited edition sets and highly-desirable minifigures for San Diego Comic Con. In recent years this has included unique LEGO DC Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and Bizarro minifigures, plus LEGO Marvel Throne of Ultron and LEGO Star Wars Clone Wars Pack mini sets.

Whether the LEGO Group will have a physical presence at the show or any San Diego Comic Con exclusives this year has yet to be confirmed, so do take this information with a pinch of salt for now.
