The LEGO Group wants to know your dream Technic sets and licences

The LEGO Technic team has launched a survey asking fans to suggest new product ideas and licensing partners.

The survey focuses heavily on possible future products, with questions related to potential brand partners and ideal vehicles, while also touching on reasons for buying Technic sets and the role that technology (such as Control+) plays in the theme.

There are 11 questions in total, and the Technic team estimates it should take roughly five minutes to fill out. Your actual time will likely depend heavily on how much you have to say – there are some pretty open-ended questions in the mix, including an option to tell the Technic team which non-vehicle sets you’d like to see.

It’s a fairly unusual survey for the LEGO Group to launch given it’s asking directly about future products, so it’ll be interesting to see whether this signals a wider shift towards consumer input across other themes.

You can take part in the questionnaire by clicking here. You’ve got until March 7 to do so, though with no specific closing time given, you’ll probably want to fill it in at least a day ahead of that deadline.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
