TT Games’ next LEGO video game rumoured to drop in 2026

A reliable source in the gaming industry has teased the release date for the next LEGO video game from veteran studio TT Games.

Journalist Jason Schreier – whose track record for rumours within video game circles is pretty strong – popped up on the latest episode of the Kinda Funny Games podcast and briefly discussed TT Games’ next LEGO title. The studio’s last game was LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga in 2022, and it’s yet to officially announce its next project following a string of high-profile departures.

Multiple job listings and a report on parent company Bloomberg have confirmed that TT Games is indeed working on a new LEGO title, though – and Jason has now shared when we can expect to get our hands on it.

“They actually are one of the few studios in the umbrella that has a LEGO game coming in the near future,” Jason said. “I believe it’s for next year, I could be misremembering. It’s either later this year or next year. I think next year. I won’t blow up their spot and say what it is, but yes, there is a new LEGO game coming imminently.”

It sounds like Jason also knows what the game is, but isn’t letting on right now. Various rumours have pointed to games tied to Harry Potter, Batman and Disney while one recent job listing called for developers experienced in designing LEGO Speed Champions cars, hinting at a potential Fast & Furious title (building on the appearance of licensed Speed Champions cars in LEGO 2K Drive).

It’s all up in the air at the moment, but if TT Games’ latest title really is on the cards for late 2025 or 2026, we’ll hopefully see an official announcement relatively soon. Then again, the endless delays to the Skywalker Saga may have convinced the studio to only announce future games when it’s sure it’ll meet the first release date, so we could also be looking at a last-minute reveal.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
