TT Games brings back LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga’s best bug

TT Games has reinstated LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga’s best bug, only now as an intentional feature.

When LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga first hit consoles and PCs in April 2022, gamers were quick to find and exploit the usual bugs that come with any new LEGO video game. Ranging from mildly frustrating to borderline game-breaking, those glitches and errors were mostly fixed in subsequent patches – including (unfortunately) the saga-spanning sequel’s best bug.

Rather than stopping progress or erasing save data, this particular glitch – which arrived as part of the Mandalorian Character Pack – allowed players to amass armies of playable characters. The first step involved selecting Din Djarin and his companion character Grogu, who could be swapped out for anyone else in the character selection screen.

Switch him for Din Djarin again, and another Grogu would appear. Rinse and repeat, and soon you were looking at an army of Mandalorians. (Or: an army of one very specific Mandalorian.) And all those Dins could easily be swapped for someone else, leading to plenty of hijinks among the LEGO Star Wars community. (Infinite Obi-Wans uttering infinite ‘hello there!’s is a highlight.)

The fun and games can now resume, as TT Games has finally brought back that bug/feature (delete as applicable) in a semi-official way. To get the ball rolling, you’ll first need to enter ‘CLONE15’ on the Cheat Code screen. Then simply follow the same process outlined above: select Din Djarin, select Grogu, and change Grogu to Din Djarin. Boom: up to 15 Mandalorians.

It’s nice to see the TT Games team is self-aware enough to poke fun at this glitch, even if (for whatever reason) it’s doing so a year and change on from its initial discovery. Here’s hoping the studio’s renewed attention on LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga means there’s more content coming somewhere down the line…

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
