Two LEGO The Lord of the Rings sets rumoured for 2025, including 10354 Bag End

Two different LEGO The Lord of the Rings sets are rumoured to be releasing under the Icons banner in 2025, starting with 10354 Bag End.

Rumours of a new LEGO The Lord of the Rings set hooked to the Shire have been floating around since early October, and Instagram user a.clay.brick now reports that the set will manifest in April 2025 as 10354 Bag End. That would put it firmly between the February and June release windows of 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell and 10333 The Lord of the Rings: Barad-Dûr.

There’s no word at this stage on a price tag or piece count for 10354 Bag End (if that is what it ends up being called – more likely it will at least be called something like 10354 The Lord of the Rings: Bag End), but the particular slice of the Shire mentioned leaves it wide open. We could be looking at a smaller Middle-earth model akin to 79003 An Unexpected Gathering, which focuses only on Bilbo’s (then Frodo’s) home.

Or we could be in store for a bigger and more expansive take on the Shire that also includes areas like Bilbo’s birthday party, other Hobbit holes and the bridge that Gandalf and Frodo cross at the opening of The Fellowship of the Ring. With one eye on the high price tags of both recent LEGO The Lord of the Rings sets, that does seem the likelier option at this stage.

But that’s not all: the same source claims that the LEGO Icons theme should be debuting a second LEGO The Lord of the Rings set later in 2025. We’ve had multiple Middle-earth sets in 2023 and 2024, but the additional models have so far only been BrickHeadz and gifts-with-purchase. A second fully-fledged LEGO Icons set within a single calendar year would be a first.

There are no indications yet what that second set could be, but the possibilities are pretty much endless. It could be another minifigure-scale location, a buildable object, a map of Middle-earth… the list goes on. I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
