Two more LEGO Star Wars May 2024 sets officially revealed
A LEGO Certified Store has officially revealed two more LEGO Star Wars sets coming our way in May 2024, including this year’s first (and perhaps only) diorama.
Joining 75378 BARC Speeder Escape and 75383 Darth Maul’s Sith Infiltrator next month will be 75380 Mos Espa Podrace Diorama and 75381 Droideka, both calling back to The Phantom Menace to celebrate the prequel movie’s 25th anniversary. This year is also the LEGO Star Wars theme’s 25th anniversary, though, so both sets include a celebratory brick acknowledging that occasion instead.
These images have come from Bricks Megastore, an Australian Certified LEGO Store, so we don’t yet have confirmed international pricing. You can check out all the images and details we do have so far below, though – including their prices in Australia.
75380 Mos Espa Podrace Diorama
Price: AUD$119.99 Pieces: 718 Release date: May 1, 2024
Depicting Anakin Skywalker and Sebulba’s podracers at mini scale as they traverse through Beggar’s Canyon on Tatooine, 75380 Mos Espa Podrace Diorama feels like the spiritual successor to the now-retired 75329 Death Star Trench Run Diorama. Like that Episode IV set (and all other LEGO Star Wars dioramas), it sits on a tiled-off black base with a printed LEGO Star Wars logo.
There’s also the requisite movie quote, and Qui-Gon Jinn’s wise words feel like a solid pick from this sequence (although we’d also have been happy with ‘Yippee!’). Expect this one to cost somewhere in the region of £69.99 / $79.99 / €79.99.
75381 Droideka
Price: AUD$89.99 Pieces: 583 Release date: May 1, 2024
When was the last time we saw a minifigure-scale Droideka in a LEGO Star Wars set? Good question. The answer is 2015, or in other words, a very long time ago. That’s about to be rectified in 75381 Droideka, which includes a tiny take on the ball droid alongside a giant buildable version comprised of more than 500 pieces.
It should fit in nicely next to previous buildable droid characters, even if thematically there’s little else from the prequel trilogy to match 75381 Droideka… so far. Fingers crossed this leads to a giant, buildable B1 (or even B2) eventually. Based on its Australian price and piece count, a price tag of £49.99 / $59.99 / €59.99 feels about right.
We’ll hopefully find out more about both of these sets – including how much they’ll cost in other regions – very soon. Expect both of these sets to herald this year’s LEGO Star Wars May the 4th event, which typically kicks off on May 1. You can check out the other sets confirmed and rumoured for May in the table below.

- I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
