Wall-mounted sets are everywhere thanks to LEGO Art

Wall-mounted LEGO sets are becoming more common ever since LEGO Art thanks to new bricks, appearing everywhere from DC to Ideas

LEGO Art was one of the first themes to include LEGO sets designed to hang on a wall thanks to the introduction of a hanger element integrated into each mosaic. This has continued to be a major aspect of the theme including in the brand-new Hokusai – The Great Wave.

However, this feature has made its way to other themes since then too thanks in part to the creation of another new element. Here are four themes with sets that include the option of wall-mounting their models.

5 – Icons

The upcoming 10314 Dried Flower Centerpiece as part of the Botanical Collection has the option to display the build on a wall, as well as combined with multiple copies of the set. However, it is not known which piece is used for this feature.

4 – DOTS

With five sets featuring the DOTS hanger brick, the customisable theme is familiar with wall-mounting with the piece debuting in the message board models.

3 – Ideas

Similar in subject to LEGO Art but based on a LEGO Ideas project by Truman Cheng, 21333 Vincent van Gogh – The Starry Night can be displayed on a surface with the included stand complete with a minifigure of the artist or hung on a wall using the Art hanger piece.

2 – Harry Potter

Not including the theme’s LEGO Art set, the four upcoming LEGO Harry Potter banner builds are the first sign of wall-mounting in LEGO Harry Potter with the option to open them up and see the common rooms for each respective house too. The feature is thanks to the DOTS hanger element and the four sets launch on March 1, 2023.

1 – DC

As well as including a display stand, the now retired 76161 1989 Batwing includes the option to hang the massive model on a wall, though with its size and the weight you may need a sturdy nail or hook to cling on to the Art hanger brick contained in the underside of the Batwing.
