WATCH: The LEGO NASA Mars Rover Perseverance comes with a tiny companion

While the LEGO NASA Mars Rover Perseverance may not be a real space exploration vehicle, all the details are there, including the mini Ingenuity Helicopter.

The LEGO Group has officially announced the new LEGO Technic set, 42158 NASA Mars Rover Perseverance. The 10+ set is confirmed to have 1132 pieces, and will retail at £84.99 / €89.99 / $99.99. There’s also a tie-in with the LEGO AR app, to add that little bit more to the experience.

As well as having 360° steering, several small LEGO cameras and other features that are accurate to the real-life Mars Rover Perseverance (or Percy for short), the set will also come with a tiny LEGO version of the Ingenuity Helicopter (affectionately known to many as Ginny). The helicopter is known for being the first aircraft to achieve powered, controlled flight on a different planet. The whole set will be available to buy from June 1.
