What could LEGO’s mystery 2024 ‘Space’ minifigures be?

A mystery series of LEGO Collectible Minifigures is reportedly on the way in 2024, teasingly titled ‘Space’ – but what exactly could that mean?

Well, all sorts. There are the LEGO Group’s own in-house space themes to consider (and there are plenty of them!), which already open the doors to countless possibilities. And then there are all the licensed themes that could possibly be hooked to the very vague notion that is ‘space’, which has come from a brickmerge.de listing for a new series of blind-boxed minifigures apparently launching next May.

The options on the table are so vast that landing on a single one is practically impossible, but our YouTube editor Matthew has had a good go in our latest video. He’s run through pretty much every major idea that might actually be feasible for a LEGO Collectible Minifigures series, weighing up the likelihood of each one (is Doctor Who more realistic than Star Trek?) and ruling out more outlandish suggestions.

This obviously isn’t an exhaustive list, though: the well of potential LEGO space-themed minifigures is basically bottomless, so feel free to chuck your ideas into the comments once you’ve watched the video. And let us know too whether you agree with Matthew’s verdict on the possibilities he floats, because there are plenty of them…

Even if we do have to cushion it with a reminder that just because a Brickmerge listing says a space-themed Collectible Minifigures series is coming in 2024, doesn’t necessarily make it so. Still… watch this space. (Sorry not sorry.)

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
