Actor Gillian Anderson has celebrated the reveal of a future LEGO Ideas X-Files set, sharing the news on social media in a full-circle moment.
Now that LEGO X-Files is officially happening, thanks to Brent Waller’s The X-Files: The Truth Is Out There getting approved on June 25, Gillian Anderson, who played FBI Special Agent Dana Scully in the series, has celebrated the news on the social media platform, X.
"We've arrived!!!" she wrote, accompanied by a fitting alien spaceship emoji. The post has gathered thousands of likes and also a response from the fan designer himself.
"It only took 10 years of me trying to make it happen, I still remember the minifigures I sent to you back then when you took this photo," he wrote, sharing a photo of Anderson and her co-star David Duchovny posing with minifigures. That photo was originally shared by Anderson herself, taking to then-Twitter all the way back in 2015 to say: "Time to start an X-Files Lego campaign?!"
10 years later and the campaign is finally over, bringing the fight for LEGO X-Files and Anderson's own interest in it full circle. The final design of the LEGO Ideas set is yet to be revealed, but we can only hope that Anderson and the rest of the cast are happy with how they're rendered in minifigure form.
