1000th LEGO Store offers super rare exclusive minifigures

Visitors to the 1000th LEGO Store in the world walked away not just with the usual plaque, but also with two exclusive minifigures.

Opening in La Cantera, San Antonio, US, the LEGO Group celebrated the opening of its 1000th store on September 1, ushering in long queues of visitors keen to join in the fun. Among them was LEGO YouTuber Emmasaurus, who took her channel along for the ride in a vlog.

Not only did Emma and the other first-day visitors get the obligatory new LEGO Store plaque, but they also got two exclusive minifigures per bag, with a torso printed with ‘1000th LEGO Store’. The two minifigures have two different hairstyles, one long and black and one short and blonde. The legs are plain gold.

As well as all the September 1 releases and brand-new brick-built sculptures inside, the LEGO Store visitors could also take part in building an eight-foot tall Grogu. Every person could build an enlarged version of a 2×4 brick, which would then go on to construct the enormous Baby Yoda. Those who took part got a Certificate of Achievement that they could take home to remember their hard work.

While Emma didn’t get to see the enormous Grogu in person, the Instagram account for the retail location in La Canterra did share the end result as a reel. The enormous Grogu stands well over head height for even the tallest of visitors.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.

Wow 1000 stores. What made me take a second glance is the LEGO group celebrated 100 North American stores in 2019. The company sure has a LOT of stores to manage.

Emmasarus and her husband have the most annoying Lego Channel on youtube – “Hey I got Free Lego, Look at my free Lego, Let my husband talk about my free Lego because I don’t really know anything about Star Wars Lego, I’m changing my Lego city to match my free new Lego, I’m changing back my Lego city to match my free new Lego” – Give me Jang any day – Oh and that Brick Fanatics guy I like him too

I saw them do a video of them greedily buying every Republic tank on the shelves and leaving nothing for the “common folk”. I instantly unsubscribed from their channel. They are so annoying.
