30539 Lloyd’s Quad Bike is now free with LEGO NINJAGO purchases, but only in stores

LEGO NINJAGO 30539 Lloyd’s Quad Bike is now available for free with a qualifying spend, but you’ll need to head to a LEGO Store in-person to pick it up.

That’s bad news for fans in the UK, who will basically miss out on the Season 14 gift-with-purchase unless one of two things happens: either the government rolls back current COVID-19 restrictions and allows non-essential retail to reopen, or the LEGO Group makes the promo available through its online store.

We’ll let you know if either of those eventualities does come to pass, but for now, you may have to turn to the secondary market to grab your copy of 30539 Lloyd’s Quad Bike.

US fans will fare a little better – at least where LEGO NINJAGO is concerned – as most LEGO Stores are currently open. You’ll need to spend $40 on NINJAGO sets to qualify for the freebie, but there’s plenty to choose from, with this year’s NINJAGO Legacy wave available now.

What you won’t be able to do is buy any of the corresponding Season 14 sets, because they all launch on March 1 – a week after 30539 Lloyd’s Quad Bike finishes on February 21. That makes the timing for this promo even more frustrating, because while it will undoubtedly stoke interest in the new wave for casual fans picking up other NINJAGO sets, it makes completing the entire theme a headache for hardcore collectors.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
