LEGO Castle Sea Serpent GWP gets a rumoured release window

LEGO Ideas’ castle-themed Sea Serpent gift-with-purchase finally has a rumoured release window, and it sounds like it’s not far off sailing on to shelves.

Designed by HallowBrick02 for last year’s Twist of Nostalgia contest, the reimagining of 1992’s 6057 Sea Serpent – a Black Knights set that includes 126 pieces – is comprised of 250 elements and includes three minifigures, at least as pitched. BrickTap now reports that the final set will be available with qualifying purchases sometime in July 2026.

Chances are good that it won’t look exactly like the model proposed here, because almost all LEGO Ideas sets and GWPs undergo at least a little finetuning before release. But given this is quite a small model and there’s already well-established source material to work from, it’s difficult to imagine it changing too much.

According to BrickTap, Sea Serpent will likely be available with qualifying spends on anything at LEGO.com, rather than Ideas sets specifically. That’s good news if you’ve got other sets or themes on your wishlist that you’re hoping to tick off with this gift-with-purchase when it eventually washes ashore.

LEGO Castle fans are facing another drought at the moment (at least outside the BrickLink Designer Program), with 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle and 10332 Medieval Town Square firmly in the rearview mirror – and their respective Lion Knights and Wolfpack factions on the brink of leaving Pick a Brick.

It’s no surprise that the Sea Serpent is so highly-anticipated in certain circles, then – but at least we don’t have too much longer to wait, at least if this rumour is true. A specific spend threshold and exact dates in July have yet to be reported.

Sea Serpent is one of four LEGO Ideas GWPs currently on the cards, alongside Doomslizer’s Build, Paint and Play! (which itsjustajoe suggests may be coming this autumn), ArchGian7’s Urban Face Sketcher and stubot’s newly-announced Highland Hike. Head here for a complete list of LEGO Ideas sets in production.
