Adidas A-ZX Series trainers ‘often exclusive’ says LEGO Group
The LEGO Group has provided a statement on the Adidas A-ZX Series sneakers that sold out immediately, explaining that such trainers are ‘are often introduced as exclusive runs’.
LEGO User Group representatives have been asking tough questions of the LEGO Group on the LEGO Ambassador Network, a place where fans can be the voice of their clubs. The Adidas A-ZX Series LEGO trainers launch seems to have left a sour taste for many, although a couple of people did defend the LEGO Group’s decision to focus on marketing rather than a positive experience for fans.
The sneakers sold out immediately, with many pairs of LEGO trainers up on ebay and other marketplace websites for much more than the original retail price.
The LEGO Group provided a statement in response to fans:
In teaming up with adidas Originals we wanted to celebrate icons of both brands for which the ZX8000 shoe merged with original LEGO colours and studs was a great fit. A-ZX8000 shoes are often introduced as exclusive runs and this time was no exception.
Rather than actually answering any of the comments or questions from fans, it seems to simply be a statement of fact. But given that the shoes have come and gone, those looking for a pair will have to hit up a marketplace website or move onto the next LEGO release…
